From Europe to Brussels, from Day to Night will combine the official closing event of the European Youth Media Days 2008 with an inspiring get-together of young media makers interested in Europe and those working in and around Brussels. Kicked-off with the presentation and discussion of media produced during the EYMD 2008, the event will evolve into a night of intercultural dialogue, discussions, inspiring media displays, networking and a vision of what Europe, media and European media can be.

The media night following the official closing of the EYMD is organized in cooperation with cafebabel.com.

Why From Europe to Brussels? The event will bring together people from all over Europe. An international group of EYMD participants and team members will be joined by young Europeans working in Brussels with an EU or media background. Furthermore, the event will attract Belgian journalism students and young professionals, eventually brining Europe to Brussels.

Why From Day to Night? Integral part of the evening is the presentation of different European media. Media productions of the EYMD 2008 will be show.  Moreover, the event will serve to initiate a European competition for young media makers. By embedding these productions and projects in the informal setting of the night, the event will create new and creative opportunities for partnerships and networking.

During the night, a DJ will entertain the crowd with an international music selection from all over Europe. Food and drinks will be available at the bars. 

The Media Night will take place in the Claridge: The Claridge, located in the heart of the new European quarter at the foot of the Madou Tower in Brussels, has been completely transformed. The main hall, inspired by the Art Deco period, has been given a fresh new look with a modern twist. For the presentation of the media productions created during the European Youth Media Days 2008, we will use more than ten screens all around the place. Enjoy this multimedia experience!
